IBS Batch Controller

The IBS Batch Controller is intended for flow applications where accurate measurement and control of batch quantities is needed. Batch total, accumulated total and set point value can all be shown on the large, easily-read LED display. It can be configured from the front touch buttons to batch volumes from 0.1 to 999,999.99 litres and K factors from 999,999 to 0.01.

The IBS is a powered batch controller for liquids that incorporates an eight (8) digit 10mm LED display. The instrument can batch up or down and provide the excitation power supply for the flow sensor. The IBS can operate in local manual mode by front panel touch switches for Batch Start, Stop and Resume or in remote mode as this function are brought out to the rear terminal strip that will enable the control of the batch by PLC.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Input Details
The instrument accepts an input from 0 to 5KHZ and is dip switch selectable for open collector, reed, Hall, Namur and turbine signals (from 20mV peak to peak).

Display
The IBC incorporates an eight (8) digit 9mm digit height high contrast (LED) display with a wide viewing angle and a viewing distance of 5 metres.

Totaliser Memory
The instrument incorporates a background running total that is stored in eeprom memory during loss of power. This total can be displayed by the front total touch button and reset by a normally open push button between terminals 1 and 7.

Low flow alarm
The instrument incorporates a low flow alarm. If no input pulses are received in a user programmable period the low flow output becomes active and the batch is cancelled and LF ERR is displayed.

Power Supply
85 to 270VAC 47-63 Hz universal supply or DC to DC converter isolator from 12 to 48VDC. An adjustable transducer power supply of 8 to 24VDC at 30mA is incorporated in the instrument.

Mounting Details
Panel mounting extruded aluminium enclosure of case dimensions 96 mm wide by 96 mm high by 118mm deep with a panel cut out of 92 mm wide by 92 mm high.
 
Batcher Operation
The IBC is user friendly to operate. The batch size is set in from the front panel. Pressing the start button will energise output relay one and start liquid flow. Relay two will energise after its time delay is exceeded.
The display will increment in value as the batch progresses to the finish starting the end of batch output. Relay two can be programmed to start and stop anywhere in the batch cycle. The batch can be halted at any time with the stop button and restarted with the resume button which will re-energise the relay one and two causing the batch to continue from where it stopped.
